摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective laser cutting-off method for metallic components, which have a thickness within the range from 4 to 25 mm and are very difficult to cut off, by use of a much more short focal length. <P>SOLUTION: In the laser cutting-off method for the metallic components having a thickness within the range from 4 to 25 mm, a bifocal lens is used, and a laser beam can be converged to at least a first focal point (PF1) and a second focal point (PF2), which are located on the optical axis of the laser beam and are separated from each other, and the lens has focal lengths (FL) within the range from 170 to 300 mm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p>
