<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to input commands without using icons or a tablet in an electronic device having a touch panel on which an input element is used to input various commands. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic device, which comprises the input element and a detection means for detecting the position or pointing direction of the input element, stores a command table for storing about each of one or more processes movement locus data representing a movement locus of the input element in association with command data representing a command indicating the execution of the process, and has an identification means for analyzing time changes in the detection result by the detection means to identify the movement locus of the input element, and a process execution means for, if movement locus data representing the movement locus identified by the identification means is stored in the command table, executing the process corresponding to the command represented by the command data associated with the movement locus data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
