PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capping mechanism capable of suppressing drying of a tip part for delivery of a nozzle while it is suppressed that a normal delivering is obstructed, and an inkjet head apparatus equipped with the capping mechanism. SOLUTION: The capping mechanism is such a capping mechanism that suppresses drying of a delivering hole 3 of the nozzle 2 in an inkjet head 1. It is equipped with a cap base stand 7, a cap elastic body 4 raised from the cap base stand 7 and coming into contact with the inkjet head 1 so as to surround the delivering hole 3, and a discharging hole 8 formed on the cap base stand 7, storing a waste liquid 9 fallen down from the delivering hole 3 and whose inner diameter is selected so as to form a sealed space among the inkjet head 1, the cap base stand 7 and the cap elastic body 4.
