PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously display on a main-panel and on a sub-panel, when an IC for main-panel is connected in parallelly with the main panel and the sub panel, in the double-sided display device. SOLUTION: The simultaneous display is attained by lighting only the display side, while arranging the backlights for the main panel and for the sub panel. By rewriting the main display and sub display for each frame and by changing over the lighting of the backlights, different displays can be displayed on the main display and on the sub display.
