UPDATING METHOD FOR IC CARD HAVING BIOMETRICS FUNCTION AND UPDATING DEVICE FOR IC CARD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IC card updating device which biometrically identifies a person by making use of biological information for preventing biological information from being leaked to update an IC card while executing strict personal identification.

SOLUTION: A control unit (22) strictly identifies an IC card having a biometrics function and a person by biometrically identifying the person by using a biometrics function which an old IC card (5) has. If there is no problem in identifying the person, biological data obtained in the biometrics are registered to a new IC card (5-1) whose legitimacy is confirmed. By this, the IC card can be updated by one-time image pickup while preventing the biological information from being leaked.
