THREE DIMENSIONAL DISPLAY METHOD, IMAGE GENERATION SIDE APPARATUS AND IMAGE DISPLAY SIDE APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit an image necessary for a three dimensional display method of a DFD (Depth-Fused 3-D) system by utilizing a transmission path which is used for transmitting an image by a conventional two dimensional display system.

SOLUTION: In the three dimensional display method, a three dimensional solid image is displayed by displaying a two dimensional image on each of a plurality of display faces positioned at different depth viewing from a viewer in an image display side and by changing luminance or transmittance of the two dimensional image displayed for each display face, independently for every display face. The two dimensional image and a depth image are transmitted from an image generation side and in the image display side, the two dimensional image for each display face in which the luminance or the transmittance are independently changed for every display face, is generated from the two dimensional image and the depth image, and the three dimensional solid image is displayed by displaying the two dimensional image for each display image. The two dimensional image and the depth image are transmitted from the image generation side to the image display side by an independent signal system arranged in parallel.
