<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an order receipt/placement-based inventory management system capable of rapidly implementing a response process from the placement of an order for a product through a network to the determination of the receipt of the order, while enabling an orderer to either directly receive the delivery of the ordered product or take out the product at a predetermined time at a designated inventory center, and its management method. <P>SOLUTION: The orderer designates the product, its quantity, time, and other necessary items through the network 10 and places an order, and a transaction is conducted as the content of the order and inventory status are collated with each other. The system includes an inventory inquiry means 13 for letting the orderer designate from a plurality of inventory centers the desired inventory center from which to either receive the delivery of the product or take out the product and for making inquiries about the inventory status of the designated inventory center and the content of the order; an inventory quantity planning means 14 for planning a necessary inventory quantity at the designated inventory center on the basis of information data about products in a production factory or the other inventory center; and a transaction notification means 16 for notifying the orderer of either an inquiry as to changes to the content of the order for requesting the resetting of the content of the order or information on whether or not purchase is possible. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
