PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To finish an operation in a short period of time despite of executing bacteria elimination for clothes. SOLUTION: When a bacteria elimination course is set, this washing machine sequentially executes a second rinsing operation after a washing operation and a first rinsing operation, and executes a bacteria elimination process before an agitating process of the second rinsing operation. In the bacteria elimination process, the clothes in a drum 22 is heated with hot air to eliminate the bacteria and the drum 22 whose temperature is raised by the bacteria elimination process is cooled in the rinsing process after the bacteria elimination process. This constitution can dispense with a dedicated air blowing operation for cooling the drum 22 so as to finish the operation in a short period of time despite of executing the bacteria elimination for the clothes.
