The combined cylinder block and upper part of an engine crankcase has e.g. four bore casings (10) side-by-side to accommodate cylinder liners. It has solid connecting pieces (30) between the cylinder bores at the top. - The cylinder block has cooling channels (20) at the top and extensive cooling channels (32,36) extending all round the bores lower down. There are outlets (44,46) on either side. There are bores (22,24) for fastening screws (42). |
