PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent scraps cut by a cutter mechanism and stored in a trash box from scattering. SOLUTION: A color thermal printer is mounted with the trash box 27 having a scrap pressing member 33. The scrap pressing member 33 is displaced between a pressing position shown in (A) and a retreating position shown in (B) by a rotating plate 68. At the pressing position, the scraps are pressed in the trash box 27 by the scrap pressing member 33. At the retreating position, the scraps are made not to interfere the scrap pressing member 33. The scrap pressing member 33 is displaced by linking with the cutting action of the cutter mechanism by a sliding shaft 69 provided on the rotating plate 68 and an arm 45 provided on a carriage of the cutter mechanism. Even when the color thermal printer is inclined or carried, there exists no possibility of jumping out the scraps from the trash box 27. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
