PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring a level of molten steel in a casting mold of continuous casting facility, which method can simply perform the calibration of an eddy current type level meter at the time for installing the eddy current type level meter or at the early period of the casting without using other level meters, such as a thermocouple type level meter, a radioactive ray type level meter. SOLUTION: A specific frequency of a sound which resonates at a specific level of the molten steel in the casting mold 6 is obtained beforehand. The sound wave of the specific frequency is always emitted from a speaker 16 toward the inside of the casting mold 6 from the beginning of the casting, and the sound wave of the specific frequency reflected in the casting mold 6 is received by means of a microphone 17, and its intensity level is always measured. The level of the molten steel is determined as the specific level of the molten steel when the intensity level exceeds a required threshold value. The eddy current type level meter 9 is calibrated based on this specific level of the molten steel.
