METHOD OF MANUFACTURING CARBON NANOTUBE FORMED BODY

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a carbon nanotube formed body which is used suitably as a conductive material such as a filament of an electric lamp or the like.

SOLUTION: The carbon nanotube formed body is manufactured by shaping a mixture of a carbon nanotube with a vehicle substance capable of being carbonized into a prescribed shape and heating at 800-1,500°C in a reduced pressure atmosphere or an inert atmosphere. The carbon nanotube conventionally impossible to be used as a conductive material by itself because of its short length in spite of having conductivity is obtained as the conductive material having about 0.5-5 mm diameter and about ≥20 cm length by shaping the carbon nanotube generally having about 0.5-10 nm diameter and about 1 μm length and about ≤10 μm length even if it is long by this method.
