<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an inkjet recording sheet which has advantages such as excellent coating film uniformity (mottle resistance) and high productivity, and besides, has ameliorated ink absorption and craze resistance. <P>SOLUTION: In this method, a coating film is formed by applying a porous layer containing a hydrophilic binder composed of a polymer compound crosslinked by ionizing radiation and an inorganic fine particle, to the surface of a continuously running support. After that, the coating film is irradiated with the ionizing radiation.
