<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a main power switch from being turned off by a user during a period where the main power switch is prohibited from being turned off, and to provide the user with information about the effect of turning the main power switch off during the prohibition period. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises a main power switch for turning the main power supply of the image forming apparatus on/off, a means 21 for detecting the fact that a user is touching or trying to touch the main power switch, a label stuck to the vicinity of the main power switch in order to display warning information of turning the main power supply off by using the main power switch, and an operating means 14.
