摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device for avoiding the occurrence of braking shock, in a vehicle which has a transmission and a directly connected clutch in a power transmission passage from an engine to a driving wheel, with the conventional braking force of a wheel brake when braking during lower reduced speed travel of the vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: In order that driving wheel torque Tw is predetermined driving wheel torque Tw' or lower in respect to braking torque during the lower reduced speed travel of the vehicle and the braking operation of the vehicle with a wheel brake device 34, the torque capacity of the directly connected clutch Ci is reduced by a directly connected clutch control means 116 and engine torque TE to be transmitted to a driving wheel 32 is suppressed depending on a reduced amount D of the torque capacity. Thus, even when the gear ratio of a first speed gear stage of an automatic transmission 10 is greater than conventional one, e.g., the driving force on the driving wheel 32 is suppressed during lower reduced speed travel at the first speed gear stage to avoid the occurrence of braking shock with the conventional braking force of the wheel brake device 34. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
