<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for depolymerizing an acrylic resin, allowing a decomposed product to hardly retain, capable of recovering the product in high yield, capable of suppressing the secondary reaction of the decomposed product, and enabling an accurate analysis to be carried out even when the acrylic resin contains minor components or comprises many constituent components; and to provide a depolymerization method. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus 10 for depolymerizing the acrylic resin is obtained by using a depolymerization pipe 14 in a nearly H-shape, having first and second vertical pipes 11 and 12 composed of inorganic glass and mutually arranged nearly parallel, and a horizontal pipe 13 allowing the vertical pipes to communicate with each other. Preferably, the pressure in the depolymerization pipe 14 expressed in terms of 25°C value is≤0.3 kPa shown by absolute pressure, and the temperature is 300-500°C.
