<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coding apparatus for efficiently changing an amount of codes of a compressed image. <P>SOLUTION: Compressed image data JPGDI from a code memory 7 are separated into quantization step value DQT(D), code table information DHT(D) and variable length code CODE(D). The variable length code CODE(D) is decoded into run length RRRR(D), size SSSS(D) and additional bit ADBIT(D) and written into a size memory 14. A size change section 5f changes a run length RRRR(M), size SSSS(M) and additional bit ADBIT(M) from the size memory 14 based on a frequency domain and a size change amount set to a size change table 5e. A variable length code is allocated to a changed run length RRRR(C)/size SSSS(C) and an additional bit is added to generate a variable length code CODE(E). Compressed image data JPGDO are generated by multiplexing the variable length code CODE(E), quantization step value DQT(E), and code table information DHT(E). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
