PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary compressor preventing seizure of a roller and end plate members in compression and reducing leakage of refrigerant gas in the compression. SOLUTION: The rotary compressor comprises a cylinder body 21, the end plate members 50, 60 attached to both end faces of the cylinder body 21, the roller 27 disposed in a cylinder chamber 22, a blade 28 attached to the roller 27, and a bushing 25 supporting the blade 28. A width W<SB>1</SB>in a roller axis direction of the bushing 25 is larger than a width W<SB>2</SB>in an axial direction of the roller 27. A clearance in the roller axis direction between the roller 27 and the end plate members 50, 60 is larger than a clearance in the roller axis direction between the bushing 25 and the end plate members 50, 60.
