PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved polyethylene naphthalate resin composition which has excellent handling properties and dimensional stability while introducing a copolymerization component in order to improve the rigidity of a polymer, and a film. SOLUTION: The modified polyethylene naphthalate resin composition comprises polyethylene-2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylate (PEN) copolymerized with a crosslinking component having a≥3-valent functional group at a ratio of the crosslinking component, based on the repeating unit of the PEN resin, in the range of 0.01-1 mol% and an alkali metal salt of an organic acid in an amount of 5-200 ppm in terms of the alkali metal element based on the weight of the resin composition, and the film uses this resin composition.
