PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bicycle with a backrest capable of attaining easier operation by preventing the backrest from having interference with anything without impairing transportation efficiency. SOLUTION: In this bicycle with the backrest 1, lower ends on both sides of the backrest 30, each of which is formed into a portal shape, are respectively supported by a fitting 45 which is respectively fixed on both sides of a frame 6, backward from the standing pipe 12 of the frame 6 and out of bounds of the rotation of a crank arm 19, and is supported on the upper side from the lower end by the rear end of a saddle 13. The backrest 30 is structured so as to be divided into the upper and lower portions on the just upper side of a part which is supported by the rear end of the saddle 13, and the lower end part of a backrest part 31 on the upper side is rotatably connected to the upper end part of the supporting part 32 on the lower side.
