SOLUTION: In a forming method of an element for belts by an engaging recessed part and an engaging projecting part are formed by pressing the planar material and the element is manufactured by punching a region including the engaging recessed part and the engaging projecting part in the planar material in the case the element which is laminated in the thickness direction and has a neck part, a head part, a body part, an engaging recessed part and an engaging projecting part which are provided in the head part is manufactured by pressing a metallic planar material, the forming method is provided with a first stage where the recessed part is formed in a part where is in the region predetermined to be punched as the element in the planar material and equivalent to between the head part and the body part of the element and a second stage where the engaging recessed part and the engaging projecting part are formed by pressing the planar material on which the recessed part is formed.
