The cutter has an egg slicer-like design, comprising a permanently mounted or removable knife which is pressed downwards against food being supported on a plate (1a). The knife is secured to a part which is guided by at least one guide member (7) located on the front or back side of this part and allowing movement in only one direction at right angles to the cutting line of the knife and in the plane in which the cutting direction of the knife is located.
