Compositions comprising one or more dialkyl ketone peroxides, in which each alkyl group has 1-6 carbon atoms, diallyl phthalate and water, the amount of water being insufficient to render the composition turbid, the compositions possessing a shock sensitivity which is less than the shock sensitivity of the ketone peroxide, are prepared by reacting by contact and agitation one or more dialkyl ketones with aqueous hydrogen peroxide in the presence of diallyl phthalate, preferably in the presence of a cation exchange resin. The compositions may contain 10-80% by weight of ketone in 90-10% by weight of diallyl phthalate, based on the weight of the mixture. |
