The Figure shows a section through a simple terminal block containing one or more hollow I-section connectors with access slots in their flat ends. These may be formed side by side in one piece from folded sheet metal and separated as required by cutting between adjacent connectors and inserting insulating spacers. Electrical connectors are made by pushing flat tabs 44 crimped to external conductors into the access slots 32 so that they force apart resiliently the central parts of the I-section bodies. The extent of this separation being limited by protuberances on the insulating housing wall. Convexities 46 on the tabs engage in holes 34 in the connectors and latch the tabs in position. Several simple blocks of this kind may be mounted side by side to build up an array (Fig. 1, not shown).
