An azo compound (I) is new. An azo compound of formula (I) is new. [Image] X : H, Cl, Br, -CN, -SO 2CH 3, -OH, -OCH 3, or -NO 2; Y : H, Cl, Br, or -CN; K : coupling component of 6-hydroxypyridone-2, aniline, alpha -naphthylamine, 5-aminopyrazole, 5-hydroxypyrazole, indole, tetrahydrochinoline, 2-aminothiazole, 2-aminothiophene, phenol, 2-naphthol, benzomorpholine, or 2,6-diaminopyridine series. Phenol is not 3,5-dimethyl substituted and the substituents in the 3 and 5 position are not members of a second ring. An independent claim is also included for the preparationof the azo compound by coupling a diazotized amine of formula (II) with an amine of formula H-K. [Image] Independent claims are also included for: (1) process for the production of a dyestuff of formula (I), characterized by the reaction of a diazotized amine of formula (II) is coupled with an amine of formula H-K; (2) a composition comprising a dyestuff of formula (I) or its mixtures; (3) fibers or threads or materials produced comprising fully or semi-synthetic, hydrophobic, organic materials which have been dyed or printed with the claimed dyestuff. |
