<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gravure printing machine and a gravure printing method, in which, at the application of the printing to a web by an additional printing, the printing pitch given by the previous printing can be coincided with the printing pitch given by the additional printing by automatically adjusting the printing pitch of the web, on which the previous printing has been applied. <P>SOLUTION: This gravure printing machine comprises an in-feed unit 20 giving a tension to the web W, printing units 10 and a controller 30. Each printing unit 10 has a plate cylinder 11 for applying the printing to the web W by the additional printing, a register mark detecting sensor 15 for detecting the register mark given on the web W and a compensator roller 14. The controller 30 controls the compensator roller 14 and, at the same time, adjusts the magnitude of the tension to give to the web W through the controlling of the in-feed unit 20 based upon the magnitude of the positional shear between that of the register mark given by the previous printing and that of the register mark given by the additional printing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
