<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma cutoff apparatus which can solidify a part of an electrode insert fused during a plasma cutoff operation by controlling a plasma torch, and further to provide a controller for the same. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus 10 includes the controller of the plasma torch 16 connected to an electric power source 12. The controller is configured so as to delay the generation of the next arc after the decay of the preceding arc during the period of one operation of a trigger 31. The electric power source 12 includes a processor 13 which accepts a feedback signal, and monitors the operation of the plasma cutting-off apparatus 10. A cable 18 supplies electric power and compressed air or gas to the torch 16, and further serves as an information transmitting line between the torch 16 and the electric power source 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
