<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gateway device for properly transferring an emergency message and a network system using the device. <P>SOLUTION: The gateway device 10 for transferring a message between a plurality of networks is provided with a transfer control means TCON for transferring a normal message MES received from a transmission origin network to a transmission destination network in the order of reception, and for, when the message received from the transmission origin network is made to correspond to an emergency message UMES, transferring the emergency message to the transmission destination network prior to the received normal message.
