PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium which can maintain its contact and lubricity even in severe environments and keep the lubrication effect for a long period and is excellent in its traveling stability and durability realizing the temporally stable lubricating property. SOLUTION: This magnetic recording medium 10 has at least a magnetic layer 2 formed on a non-magnetic base 1, and a lubricant is prepared by mixing two kinds of compounds of a specific chemical formula and retained on the outermost layer.
