POLYVINYL ALCOHOL FILM AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colorless transparent film having high light transmittance, especially the transmittance of the light in a blue range; and to provide a method for producing the film. SOLUTION: The polyvinyl alcohol film has≥90% light transmittance over the whole region of visual light having 360-700 nm wavelengths, and≤0.5 YI (yellowness Index) value. The polyvinyl alcohol film is produced by (A) a step for preparing an aqueous solution of a polyvinyl alcohol resin by dissolving the polyvinyl alcohol resin in water in a dissolver composed of a stainless steel containing 12-20 wt.% Cr and 6-11 wt.% Ni, and (B) a step for forming the film by a cast method by using the aqueous solution of the polyvinyl alcohol resin.
