PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear motion device capable of eliminating expensive devices and processing such as spattering and CVD and capable of obtaining sufficient lubrication, fatigue-resistant strength and impact-resistance at low costs, while preventing peeling of a material surface. SOLUTION: In this linear motion device, surfaces of a rolling element raceway surface 3 of a guide shaft, a rolling element raceway surface 7 of a movable body 2 and a rolling surface of a rolling element B are respectively provided with a lubricating film 14 comprising a fluorine-comprised polymer, which has a functional group, and PFPE, and provided with a hard layer 20 formed by injecting nearly spherical abrasive, which has hardness equal or more than that of the described surfaces, to the surfaces to raise temperature of the surfaces to a critical temperature A3 or more in the case of a ferrous metal or raise to a recrystallization point or more in the case of a non-ferrous metal, and by processing to form oil reservoirs structured of innumerable recessed parts, which have a fine circular cross section, in the described surfaces.
