PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems of a current torque converter wherein the number of parts items is large and it hinders miniaturization. SOLUTION: This torque converter 10 is provided with an input side rotary element A connected to a driving board 1, an intermediate rotary element B comprising a turbine runner 14, an output side rotary element C comprising a turbine hub 17 connected to an input shaft 2 of a transmission, a damper mechanism D comprising a coil spring 24, which allows the predetermined quantity or less of relative rotation between the output side rotary element C and the intermediate rotary element B and which elastically deforms with these relative rotation, and a lock-up clutch mechanism E comprising a lock-up piston 17 integrally connected to the intermediate rotary element B through a rivet 16 and capable of integrally connecting the lock-up piston 17 to the input side rotary element A. A turbine shell 13 structuring a part of the turbine runner 14 has a damper holding part 13b for holding the coil spring 24 of the damper mechanism D. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
