PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the Rth retardation value of the film of cellulose lower fatty acid ester. SOLUTION: A compound that bears at least two aromatic rings and has a molecular structure causing no steric hindrance to the constellation of the two aromatic rings is used as a Rth retardation value rising agent for the film of cellulose lower fatty acid ester.
