PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly practical vapor deposition film excellent in transparency, having high gas barrier properties, not deteriorated in its physical properties even after boil sterilization or retort sterilization and having boil resistance and retort resistance not causing delamination or the like, and a packaging material using the vapor deposition film. SOLUTION: The vapor deposition film is constituted by successively laminating a primer layer, which contains a silane coupling agent having an organic functional group, which reacts with at least one of the hydroxy group of a polyol and the isocyanate group of an isocyanate compound or a hydrolysate of the silane coupling agent and a composite of the polyol and the isocyanate compound, an inorganic oxide thin film layer with a thickness of 5-300 nm comprising an inorganic oxide and a coating layer at least on one side of a plastic base material comprising a plastic material.
