PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner, improving deodorizing performance without any increase in size of a deodorizing means, preventing odor from being discharged to the outside of a cleaner body especially even at the start of operation of the vacuum cleaner, which makes a user apt to recognize odor derived from dust, and discharging odorless air. SOLUTION: In this vacuum cleaner, a housing chamber 10 communicating with an air path is installed in the air path before a dust collection chamber 5, the inside of the housing chamber 10 is filled with a deodorizing material 11, and some of the deodorizing material 11 is injected into the dust collection chamber. Thus, the deodorizing performance can be improved without any increase in size of the deodorizing means, and especially even at the start of the operation of the vacuum cleaner, which makes a user apt to recognize odor derived from dust, odor is prevented from being discharged to the outside of the body, and odorless air can be discharged.
