PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clothespole receiving device, disposing a plurality of poles at enough spaces according to the kind and amount of washing, thereby drying (hanging) a large amount of washing with room, and drying the washing on the inside and outside in the case of installing the device in an outer wall part of a veranda to dry large-sized washing. SOLUTION: This clothespole receiving device comprises two clothespole receiving units 3, 3 fitted to the outer wall part 17 of the veranda 1 at a space. Each clothespole receivign unit 3 includes a mounting fixed member 15 fixed to the upper edge 17a of the outer wall part 17; and two rocking arms 4, 4 holding the clothespole 2, the base end parts 14, 14 of which are fitted to the mounting fixed member 5 to be freely rocked around the lateral axis L and fixed. Each rocking arm 4 is mounted through an angle varying pivot mechanism 7 to be freely rocked and fixed in a rocking range from the state of hanging down inside 11 of the outer wall part 17 to the state of horizontally projecting outward 12.
