PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a state of best focus without troubling an user, even under the circumstances where focusing becomes impossible, especially at a distance of establishable range end because of the presence of errors between distance information and actual focus position at manual focusing. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus has a manual focusing means and also has an automatic focusing means for automatically acquiring focal position, from the periphery of a set focal position.
