PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately decide the modulation system of a digital modulation signal and an error correction system on the receiving side. SOLUTION: In a communications system, the modulation system and the error correction system are switched adaptively, in response to the state of a transmission line, and the transmission-line error resistance is improved. In the communications system, the signals MX, MY, CX and CY of the modulation system and the error correction system used on the transmission side are arranged at discrete places in the same frame and transmitted. Accordingly, even if the transmission signals receive fading and fluctuations of the transmission line, the possibility of both the deteriorations of the discretely arranged both signals MX and MY and CX and CY is lowered. Consequently, a modulation-system information signal and/or an error-correction system information signal can be restored accurately on the receiving side. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
