PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stand alone photo finishing apparatus which eliminates the need for facilities for piping construction and minimizes the amount of produced liquid while returning prints of high quality to users. SOLUTION: The apparatus includes a film receiving section (32) for holding a film cartridge containing an undeveloped filmstrip therein from a customer, a developing section comprising processing tanks (36 to 38, 40), each containing a processing solution for processing of the filmstrip, a scanner (42) for scanning the developed filmstrip so as to obtain a digital record of the image developed on the filmstrip, a printing section (60) for dry printing at least one image on the developed filmstrip using the digital record so as to produce a print, and a delivery section (80) for returning the print and the developed filmstrip to the customer. Alternatively, instead of the image to be printed being obtained by scanning a film, the image may be obtained through an input port designed for receiving a digital record from a variety of sources.
