PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a culture observation device for preventing cultured cells from damage caused by a temperature change. SOLUTION: This culture observation device has a sample tray 550 which is equipped with a heater 632 for heating a sample tray 550 and an energy-accumulating part 634 for driving the heater 632. A tray-mounting part 252 of a tray-holding mechanism 250 has an energy-supplying part 640 for supplying an energy (e.g. electric power) to be accumulated in the energy-accumulating part 634. The sample tray 550 has a connector 638 for being electrically connected with the energy-supplying part 540 on being mounted on the tray-mounting part 252. Further, the sample tray 550 has a switch for regulating the supply of the energy to the heater 632 from the energy-accumulating part 634. The switch is e.g. a pressure sensitive switch and starts supplying the energy to the heater 632 when the sample tray 550 leaves from a tray-receiving part 254. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
