摘要 The invention relates to a material neutron-radiation analysis and can be used, mainly, for fighting against terrorism and organised crime by detecting nitrogen-containing substances in closed inspected items. The inventive device consists of an X-ray unit and a neutron-radiation analysis unit comprising a body provided with a radiation protection placed therein and a horizontal hole which is embodied in said body and radiation protection and provided with an input opening and a chamber which is formed by neutron reflectors embodied in the form of plates and arranged in the horizontal hole. Said device also comprises a means which is used for displacing an inspected item, is placed in the horizontal hole, is embodied in the form of a rectangular frame, is adjacently connected to the top surface of the horizontal hole in such a way that it is movable therealong and is provided with at least one neutron reflector mounted thereon on a plane perpendicular with respect to the longitudinal axis on the horizontal hole and at least two thermal neutron sources. The top and lower neutron reflectors are formed by two fixed elements and one movable element which is placed therebetween, provided with a drive and is arranged in such a way that it is movable with respect to said fixed elements in a horizontal direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the horizontal hole. The device also comprises a gamma-radiation detecting unit which is located in the radiation protection cavity in front of a chamber behind the neutron reflectors, id embodied in the form of at least two gamma-radiation sensors which are provided with collimators and mounted on the movable elements of the top and lower neutron reflectors on the external side with respect to the chamber and a computer which is provided with a unit for interfacing with sensors and is connected to the gamma-radiation detecting unit and to the input of the drive of the movable elements of the top and lower neutron reflectors. Said invention makes it possible to reduce the probability of the through passage of explosive materials and a false alert, to reduce the explosive material mass value detectable by the device and to reduce the device external dimensions and mass.
