The vehicle can be used in an idling mode in order to save energy without the loss of control occurring when the clutch is released. The accelerator pedal (1) is positioned above a coil spring (2) in order to achieve a particular operating pattern. A slight change of the pattern is caused by a clutch unit (4) assembled of a spring supported pin engaging with a recess at a complementary element. When the pedal (1) is positioned in a particular angle the idling mode is activated by a magnetic switch (5).
