PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a print log collection device capable of reducing a volume for a managed print log.

SOLUTION: This print log collection device 103 is connected to a user terminal 101 having a function for instructing printing of a document to a printer 102 and a print log management device 104 having a function for managing a log of printing by a user terminal 101 via a network, and based on the print log transmitted from the user terminal 101, sends data to the print log management device 104. The print log collection device 103 receives the print log transmitted from the user terminal 101 (step S901), identifies a format of the received print log (step S902), recognizes a value of a predetermined code included in the identified print log (steps S905 and S906), decides content of the data to be transmitted to the print log management device 104 based on the recognition result, and sends the decided data to the print log management device 104 (steps S1005-S1008).
