<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of eliminating unpleasant waiting time by avoiding unscheduled calibration times which are not intended by the user, and restraining the deterioration of image quality due to the interruption of calibration. <P>SOLUTION: Image information transfer time is calculated, and whether the calibration time is shorter than the calculated time is decided. When the calibration time is shorter, the calibration is performed. When it is longer, print remaining time is calculated, and whether the calculated printing remaining time is longer than a predetermined threshold is decided.
