<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light exposing apparatus which can make especially a gradation expression easy, for example, enables a driver to use an inside mounting driving element, can ensure a quantity of light necessary for exposing the light, and in addition, approximately equalizes the life of each line, and to provide an image forming apparatus equipped with this light exposing apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The light exposing apparatus 100 comprises a line head 1 that aligns in a row and arranges a plurality of EL elements and the photo-sensitive drum 9. The line head 1 has N rows of EL element row, and in each EL element row, a pixel area of the EL elements is made constant in the row within the row. The pixel area S of the EL elements in each row is S<SB>i</SB>=S<SB>1</SB>×2<SP>i-1</SP>(wherein i is the number of row in each EL element row and a natural number from 1 to N, and S<SB>1</SB>is the area of the light emitting pixel of the EL element of the first row).
