<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide plate to emit the light in a direction perpendicular to the emitting surface and a back light module using this light guide plate without arranging optical elements. <P>SOLUTION: The light guide plate of this invention has a cutout corner part, an incident surface which is the side surface of the cutout corner part, an emitting surface adjoining this incidence surface, and a reflection surface facing the emitting surface. Fine V-shaped projection arcs are formed projecting from the light guide plate on the reflection surface. Those fine V-shaped projection arcs has a common center, are curved toward the incident surface, and are the thicker and the larger, the closer to the incident surface. The combination of the light guide plate and a light source has a merit of high brightness and even distribution of the emitted light while realizing the effect of a traditional back light module.
