PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cup holder that allows cups to be released and placed automatically and that uses a simple mechanism for cost reduction. SOLUTION: The cup holder has a holding part 12a whose top face is approximately in the form of C and shaped to have radii R1, R2 slightly smaller than half the lower flange diameters D11, D22 of cups C1, C2 and to have opening widths L1, L2 slightly greater than the bottom diameters D12, D22 of the cups C1, C2. Thus, while being of the unopenable type, the cup holder is capable of not only receiving the cups C1, C2 but also automatically releasing and placing the cups C1, C2 by lateral and longitudinal movement.
