PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire an optimum value for thread multiplexing for improving throughput in execution of multi-step processing on an inputted job during a period in which the amount of jobs can be predicted and to lower a burden in acquisition of the optimum value. SOLUTION: A system 11 for registration of electric document transforms an input file received from a host computer 15 into a predetermined format to register it through processing in threads possessed respectively by a plurality of processing parts comprising a document transformation part 113, a document storage part 114, and a document transmission part 115. When a measurement time in the period for the object optimization previously set in an optimization template definition setting file is reached, a processing part thread number optimization processing is started to acquire a value of A<SB>k</SB>for each of varied processing part thread numbers W<SB>k</SB>. A value of W<SB>k</SB>giving a maximum mean value for A<SB>k</SB>and producing the best performance is decided as a processing thread number, and this value of W<SB>k</SB>is stored as an optimum value in an optimization template file.
