PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for detecting whether or not clamp operation is normal, a means for alerting the occurrence of abnormality and a correction method of an image in which blooming has occurred, so as to solve the problem of the image falling in black to a first field signal level until the clamp operation becomes restored to normality when the clamp operation does not work normally (the blooming occurred) caused by the charges overflowed to an OB portion of an imaging device, such as a CCD, as a result of the incidence of strong light such as direct sunlight. SOLUTION: In regard to the OB portion of the imaging device such as a CCD 101, the difference between the first field and an OB target value, or the difference between the first field and the OB values of the second field or thereafter, is obtained. From the calculation result thereof, whether or not the clamp operation is normal is detected. On the basis of the above detection, an operator can select inhibition of recording a photographed image, recording of an abnormal image or recording of a corrected image.
