SINGLE CRYSTAL alpha-ALUMINA NANOTUBE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide single crystalα-alumina nanotubes which are useful as templates for producing minute reaction tubes for high temperature experiment or various one dimensional nano-structures, or the like and which are obtained by a simple means, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The method for producing the single crystalα-alumina nanotubes includes a first process for forming C-Al2O3-C nanotubes by heating Al4O4C nano-wires in a reduced-pressure atmosphere and a second process for heating the formed C-Al2O3-C nanotubes in an air atmosphere.
